Discovery Course
Learn to muscle test with confidence
A practical introduction to kinesiology and manual muscle testing
Have you ever had a kinesiology session and thought, “I'd love to learn how to do that myself”?
Perhaps you'd like to understand more about what is happening during a session, learn the basics of manual muscle testing, or have some practical techniques you can use with family and friends at home.
The Discovery Course gives you the opportunity to learn the skill properly, practise it for yourself and build confidence in what you're doing.
You don't need any previous experience — just an interest in kinesiology and a willingness to have a go.
About the Course

Across four practical sessions, you'll learn the fundamentals of manual muscle testing and have plenty of time to practise. We'll work through the important elements that make muscle testing clear and consistent, including positioning, pressure, communication and technique. You'll be shown how to test, you'll practise it yourself, and you'll have the opportunity to ask questions and get feedback as you learn. By the end of the course, you'll have a much better understanding of how muscle testing works and how to do it for yourself.

What you'll learn

Manual muscle testing.
Learn the principles behind muscle testing and how to perform it correctly, including positioning, pressure and technique.

Practical hands-on skills
Spend plenty of time actually testing and being tested, so you can develop confidence through practice.

Working with muscles
Learn a useful selection of muscle tests in more detail and understand what you're looking for when you test.

Putting it into practice
Learn how to use the techniques you've been taught in a simple, practical way with family and friends.

Building your confidence
Understand how to get a clear, consistent muscle test and recognise when you need to adjust your technique.

Take the skill home with you
This course is designed so that what you learn doesn't stay in the classroom. You'll have the opportunity to practise your muscle testing skills with family and friends in a personal setting, and continue developing your technique after the course has finished. You'll receive all the course materials you need, so you have something to refer back to as you continue practicing.

**This is for personal learning and use with family and friends. It is not a professional qualification and does not qualify you to practise kinesiology professionally**
